The Power of All-Girls Camp
At Berkshire Lake Arts Camp, we are proud to offer a warm and welcoming sisterhood where our campers to flourish. Our all-girls environment is a key part of what makes camp special. We believe deeply in the power of all-girls camp, and we’d love to share some of the reasons why this type of environment is so meaningful.
Confidence Without Comparison
At an all-girls camp, campers feel freer to try new things and put themselves out there. They don’t have to worry about stereotypes, social pressures, or fear of how they’ll be perceived by the opposite gender. Plus, Berkshire Lake is a place where firsts are celebrated, whether that be her first performance or first time throwing on the wheel. This safe environment empowers our girls to take risks, celebrate their strengths, and learn to see themselves as capable, accepted, and resilient.
Meaningful Mentorship
Campers get inspired by seeing our female staff take on all kind of roles at camp, from choreographing, to shooting a bow and arrow, to leading a field trip. They watch our staff lead with strength, compassion and a love for what they do. In our staff, they find a range of role models and mentors.
A Space to Be Herself
Every day our camper have the opportunity to be truly themselves – silly, expressive, creative, encouraging, joyful. In an all-girls setting, there is significantly less pressure to “fit the mold.” Instead, they can discover and nurture their true self. They’re celebrated for who they are, not who they’re expected to be.
True Belonging
There’s really nothing quite being part of a sisterhood of girls and women who are kind, uplifting and share a passion for the arts. These connections create a deep sense of belonging and community, and allow our campers to build special, deep bonds with one another.
