Welcome to the Magic of Berkshire Lake Arts Camp!

Hello Campers and Families,

We’re absolutely thrilled that you’ll be joining us for Summer 2026! Berkshire Lake Arts Camp is a place where creative girls flourish, friendships bloom, and every day is filled with color and joy. We can’t wait to share it all with you!

On these webpages, you’ll find everything you need to get ready for the summer — a complete guidebook to camp.

A great summer is something we create together. We so appreciate you taking the time to review these materials, and we invite your partnership in preparing your child for camp. Please reach out at any time with questions or anything you need as you prepare. We’re here to support you every step of the way.

Counting down the days until we’re at Lake Ashmere!

S’mores truly,

Mandi Miller, Director

To help every member of our community feel safe and supported at camp, we ask that you review these guidelines together before camp begins. We’ll also go over everything again once your camper arrives.

Camp Policies & Camper Expectations

  • We believe that creative exploration and personal growth go hand in hand. Campers experience high-quality instruction in dance, theater, and visual arts in a non-competitive, supportive environment that encourages curiosity, trying new things, and individual progress rather than comparison.

By being away from home and part of our welcoming all-girls community, campers build independence, resilience, and self-confidence while forming meaningful friendships and a strong sense of belonging.

Guided by positive female role models and a nurturing sisterhood, campers are supported in being their authentic selves - creatively, emotionally, and socially - and learn that who they are is something to be celebrated.

  • Item description
    • Campers may not steal or sell items to other campers.

    • Campers may take not photos or videos in bathrooms or of other campers or staff without consent.

    • Attendance is required at daily activities, meals, and evening programs.

    • Locks are not permitted on trunks or storage bins.

    • Graffiti is not permitted anywhere at camp. If graffiti occurs, a $50 cleaning fee will be charged to the family responsible.

    • All medications, including prescriptions, over-the-counter items, vitamins, and melatonin, must stay in the Health Center. Campers may not keep any medications in their bunks.

    • Waterfront activities only take place when a lifeguard is present. Campers may use activity equipment only with staff supervision.

    • Before swimming begins, campers take part in a brief swim assessment to help our staff understand each child’s comfort level and ensure safety. PFDs are available for any camper who needs one.

    • Drugs, alcohol, tobacco, vaping products, and marijuana of any kind are not allowed at camp. Campers who break this rule will be sent home without refund.

  • Our camp is proudly tech-free! Unplugging is part of the magic of camp. Without screens, campers stay present, build real face-to-face friendships, and fully immerse into the environment.

For that reason, the following are not allowed: cell phones (including old or disabled phones), tablets, e-readers, smartwatches, laptops, walkie-talkies, gaming devices, or any device with internet or gaming capability.

Campers are allowed to bring a basic MP3 player without video/game/Wi-Fi capabilities. A couple of recommendations:

    • A bunk photo is taken on the first day, and each camper receives a copy in the off-season.

    • BLAC may use photos or short video clips of campers for promotional purposes in print or digital form. We do not use camper full names in marketing.

Packing for Camp

  • If your child is joining us for just one week, please note that we won’t be doing laundry during her stay.

For campers attending a two-week session, we’ll do laundry about halfway through.

We ask that you only pack machine-washable clothing. Items like hand-painted shirts, anything with delicate embellishments, or clothes that require dry-cleaning are best kept at home.

Please be sure your child’s laundry bags are clearly labeled with her first and last name so we can keep everything organized.
