Have Questions Before Camp?
We’re always just a call or email away! Reach us at 413-233-4950 or send a note to info@berkshirelakeartscamp.com anytime. We’re here to support you through every part of getting ready for camp.
Summer Office Hours
You can reach us throughout the summer at 413-233-4950 between 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time daily. Daily office hours begin June 20. If you call after hours, you can leave a message for anything non-urgent. We’ll return your call as soon as we’re back in the office. For urgent after-hours issues, such as family emergency, medical concerns or travel changes, you can choose to be connected with our Director. You’re always welcome to email us at info@berkshirelakeartscamp.com as well.
Updates about your Camper
Because our sessions are short, we do not schedule routine phone calls home. Calls to campers happen only for birthdays or emergencies, as even a brief call, while offered with love, can make it harder for an otherwise happy camper to stay settled.
If you’re curious or concerned about how your child is adjusting, please reach out anytime. We truly welcome these conversations.
If anything important comes up regarding your child, we will always call you first.
No Package Policy
To help keep camp focused on community, we have a no-package policy. Please share this policy information with family and friends.
Receiving packages can sometimes create unnecessary comparisons between campers, and we want every child to feel comfortable and included.
If a package does arrive at camp, we’ll hold it safely and return it to your camper or family at check-out. This policy applies to all families and friends, and we truly appreciate your support in helping us create a thoughtful, non-materialistic camp environment.
Access to Policies
Families may request to review our background checks, health care policies, discipline policies, and grievance procedures at any time.
Campanion App
We use this app to share photos from camp throughout the session, making it easy to follow along with your camper’s experience. The app includes facial recognition to help you quickly find photos of your child, along with access to our one-way email service and all pre-camp forms, all in one place.
To get started:
Login to the app using your CampInTouch Account login and password
Upload a reference photo of your child
About Our Photos
We share photos every day and love capturing moments from camp life to share with you. We post photos every day, typically toward the end of the day, but timing varies as camp days varies. Our goal is for each camper to appear in the gallery several times a week. Some campers can’t wait to be captured by our photographer, while others try not to be, so we appreciate your patience.
We encourage families not to read too much into any single photo. Snapshots do not always tell the whole story of a full, happy camp day. If a photo ever brings up a question or concern, please do not hesitate to reach out. We are always glad to connect.
Writing Snail Mail
We love snail mail at camp—it’s a highlight of the day! Campers are encouraged to bring supplies to write home, and for younger campers, pre-addressed stamped envelopes make letter-writing extra easy. We also recommend sending a letter before your child arrives so they have mail waiting on Day 1.
Mail should be addressed to:
Your Camper’s Name
Berkshire Lake Arts Camp
PO Box 399
Hinsdale MA 01235
eLetters
CampInTouch and the Campanion app also offer a simple one-way email option. Emails are printed and delivered with regular mail, and campers can write back on a reply sheet that we scan and upload every other day.
While many campers love writing home, some get swept up in the fun and may not write as often. This usually means they’re happily busy!
If you ever want an update from our team, just give us a call. We’re always glad to share how your camper is doing and to ask her to write back.
Sometimes a letter from a camper might sound a little sad. This is totally normal and often just a momentary feeling. And please know that our trained, caring staff are supporting her with those feelings at camp. By the time you receive the letter, our campers are often back to painting, dancing, and making new friends. If something in a letter concerns you, please reach out so we can check in and support your child.
